Our Story Begins...
“Every day my child is scolded and tapped on the head by his classroom teacher at school, not because he was stubborn or naughty, but because he couldn’t read and write even though he was in fourth grade”…
This is among the sad stories from the mother who send their children to our reading classes that have been operating for more than nineteen years.
Most of the students we help in our reading class are primary school students from year one until year five who are struggling to read and write in Malay or English language.

A struggling reader is someone who faces difficulties in reading and comprehending written text at the same level as their peers. Some of the characteristics of a struggling reader include:
- Difficulty decoding words accurately and fluently.
- Struggles with recognizing and comprehending sight words.
- Difficulty identifying letter sounds and recognizing the relationship between sounds and letters.
- Slow reading speed.
- Limited vocabulary and difficulty understanding the meaning of words in context.
- Poor comprehension skills and inability to identify the main idea or draw conclusions from the text.
- Difficulty in making connections between the text and their own experiences.
Lack of interest and motivation in reading. - Low self-esteem and a negative attitude towards reading.

Our Approaches & Methodology
At Read Genius, we strongly believe that every child will find it easy to follow the learning process and love reading activities when teachers use a multisensory approach and classes are conducted interactively and in an enjoyable manner
Hence, we strive to maintain a balance of the auditory, visual & kinesthetic elements in every session to ensure that children with varying abilities can learn together. Apart from reading and writing, our classes feature engaging activities such as explorace, riddle, quizzes, storytelling, and more.
With our latest reading and writing innovation, Ba.Tu Board and Ba.Tu Board Screening (BBS), developed together with Dr. Norzila Zakaria (an educational psychiatry expert), we aim to help more children not only become proficient in reading and writing but also to be enthusiastic, confident, to become lifelong learners and successful in their lives.
